Mercedes-Benz MLC prepares to take on BMW X6

Just days ago, we showed you the new Mercedes-Benz Concept Coupe SUV – a swoopy crossover aimed squarely at the BMW X6. We sort of figured from the get-go that this thing had serious production intent, and lo, our trusty spy photographers have just caught this prototype of the slick Benz, likely to be named MLC, out on the road.

Even under heavy camouflage, it's easy to see that the shape of the MLC – including specific elements like the front fascia design and S-Class Coupe-inspired taillamps – have carried over from the concept. Good stuff – despite our tendency to roll our eyes at this whole crossover-coupe class, we can't argue that theMercedes concept is a pretty handsome creation.

Based on the M-Class, our spies suggest that when the MLC goes into production, it'll use the same suite of engines as its more traditional-looking sibling, including a 3.5-liter V6, twin-turbo 4.6-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6. Of course, the concept car was fitted with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6, so there's also a good chance of seeing that in the production car, as well. We wouldn't rule out a hotter AMG-tuned version, either, with that burly 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 underhood.

Based on just how far along in development the MLC seems to be, we don't think it'll be too long before the production car makes its debut. Our best guess: early 2015. Have a look through the gallery above to see more of the MLC prototype.

New York 2014: BMW X4 Photos, Specs Revealed

Ahead of its debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show, BMW has revealed photos and specs of their X4 

crossover.

Automotive News reports the X4, underpinned by a slightly longer and lower X3 architecture — will be sold in the United States with the automaker’s xDrive AWD system mated to two turbocharged options: the xDrive28i 2-liter four pushing 240 horsepower, and the xDrive35i 3-liter six driving 300 horses. Both will be paired with an eight-speed automatic accessed via flappy paddles.

Standard features revealed include variable sport steering — with matching sports leather steering wheel — performance control and rear parking assist.

The X4s will exit the BMW factory in Spartanburg, S.C. this spring with a price of $45,625 for the 28i, $48,925 for the 35i

2016 Jaguar XE Spy Shots

  Jaguar

is now in the latter stages of development of a small sedan that will target the likes of the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and spy shots of a prototype wearing the production version’s sheet metal has surfaced. The new car was recently confirmed to be called the XE, and it’s set to be revealed later this year before going on sale in Europe in 2015. Unfortunately, Jaguar has confirmed that the new XE won’t arrive in the U.S. until 2016.

A teaser shot released by Jaguar shows that the styling of the XE will borrow elements from the XF but also feature some sharper lines. The final design is said to be wide, low and very sporty. Don’t worry about the frumpy rear section on this prototype as most of it is added material designed to fool onlookers.

Underpinning the XE will be a brand new aluminum platform code-named iQ[Al]. The platform shares some commonality with the Premium Lightweight Architecture (PLA) found in latest Land Rover Range Rover models and was first previewed in Jaguar’s C-X17 crossover concept at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show.

Other models spawned from the iQ[Al] platform will be a production version of the C-X17 crossover, a test mule for which has already been spotted, as well as some likely derivatives of the XE such as a wagon or perhaps even a sporty coupe.

Power in the XE will come from a range of four-cylinder engines Jaguar is called the Ingenium family. The Ingenium engines will come in gasoline and diesel flavors, and are said to offer the latest innovations in fuel-saving technologies without sacrificing drivability. Jaguar has also designed its iQ[Al] platform to be able to accommodate its 3.0-liter V-6 already offered in the F-Type sports car, so expect this option too.

Rear-wheel drive will come standard, though customers will be able to opt for all-wheel drive. The standard transmission, meanwhile, should be an eight-speed automatic.

I Bought my son one of the Xbox 360 refurbished from the black Friday sale. It wasn't opened until Christmas day. Exactly 36 days from that it died, red ring of death. That's six days from the return policy and GameStop told me sorry your s.o.l., but I could trade it in for another and spend more money on their crap. So since they refused to be nice and do anything to help, I decided to open it up and have a look. First thing I noticed it was an original 2007 Xbox, they shouldn't even be allowed to refurbish and resell those garbage machines. It is 14 years old and you think refurbishing it is going to work. Finally after getting inside it I notice it had already been fixed for the red ring of death. When i took a good look at the screws that hold down the heat sink to the proccessor it didnt look rightbut whoever the idiot they had do it screwed up and didn't tighten all the screws down. One wasnt even tight at all and could be moved by hand and others were not tightened down properly. So now I am stuck with a dead Xbox because of their faulty technicians. All I can say is do not buy any used game systems at all from these people. They must be hiring crack heads to refurbish the systems. Thanks a lot game stop will never shop here again!!!!!

I actually agree with Joe though. I will still shop at Gamestop but I will NEVER buy anything used again. I bought an xbox cord that goes from the controler to the xbox and mailed it to my husband who is deployed. He has his xbox so there is no way I could pre test it but according to Gamestop all used products are pre tested....ya right. My husband plugs it in and it doesn't work. 

I had bought the cord at a gamestop in another state as I was visiting family at the time and so I contacted Gamestop here on Facebook with the problem since by the time my hubby were to ship it back to me it would be out of warranty and the cost of shipping we would be out. They basically brushed it off and told me to contact the store I got it from  wow......what the hell good would that do since I am about 1000 miles away! 

Never buying used again from them.....actually might not buy new either because of the way they brushed me off like that. Bad business ethics.

Genesis. The whole blast processing bit was based on how it was better at speed than the nes. But there's no such thing. Theres a game that was cancelled but recently came to light that carts were secretly made, reviewed by avgn, that prove the nes was just as fast.

Michael F. Yost Very easy to do with fast primes. Remember that a flash depends on aperture for light control and ANY shutter speed below sync is just fine. Use your Exposure compensation to 1 to 1 1/2 stops underexposed with a flash and you should have a great exposure.

The IdeaPad Y40 and Y50. I was most excited about the Y40 and Y50. It's a beautiful lightweight gaming laptop with 16GB of RAM and touchscreen options. It's the best gaming laptop on the road with a relatively mature look.
